A Cry of Lament

In scripture, we often see prayers begin with
Lament

a mourning, a passionate sorrow

"Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry for help come to You.
Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress.
Incline Your ear to me.  In the day when I call, answer me quickly.
                                     Psalm 102:1-2

Isn't this where we are right now? Amidst headlines that generate fear and panic.

But let's remember this:
"Ah Lord God!  Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too difficult or too wonderful for You."
                                         Jeremiah 32:17

I invite you to paint your prayers - pour out your heart in color.  Use shapes.
You can even use words... You can use any media, any sizes of support.
Art, a visual language, speaks from the heart to the heart - illustrating emotions, speaking what word may not be able to express.  When we speak as artists, we speak to the greatest Artist of all.

As you create, express your sorrow, but remember
the greatness of God.

During this pandemic, ask God to
  • Heal the sick and suffering
  • Protect those who are not sick
  • Give wisdom and understanding to medical personnel, scientists, and developers
  • Provide for those who are in need
  • Make His presence known and a comfort to this world
